Top 10 Most Influential Online Commercial Real Estate People 2016.

Yes, it’s that time of year once again.

Here we are now into our sixth year.

How do you get to be one of “the most influential” people in commercial real estate?

Relentless work and commitment to this business, our business of commercial real estate.

Here they are in order!

1. Barbi Reuter: PICOR/ Cushman & Wakefield Tucson. Brokerage and Property Management.

It must be that dry desert heat. Barbi has been one of the mainstays on the top of this list from the start. WHY? All the #CRE CRED in the world that’s why. Doing it day in and day out. More impressive is that she has taken the “influence” and pushed it far beyond the online world. Case in point The Crew Network. If you are not paying attention to “The Crew” it’s a huge mistake. Watch, listen, follow, and learn. This may just be me but the odds Barbi is the president of CREW soon? I would say 1000%. And that may just be the start.

2. Coy Davidson: The Tenant Advisor at Colliers. Houston Texas.

Find me someone more influential online in #CRE. I dare you! Killer content, stats, interaction, opinions, news aggregation, sharing, multi-platform, brand building. Oh and he even has a blog just for CRE and Social media. The man is a machine. Someone told me he deadlifts Hummers. Want to know about Healthcare and #CRE? It’s called top of mind for a reason. Oh, and I am the world’s greatest wingman, just ask him.

3. Dan Hughes: Director of Data & Information Products and PropTech lead at RICS. Reading, United Kingdom

First off he has graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) (hons), Mechanical design, Materials and Manufacturing degree. So he is a nerd. He can write some brilliant tech/eng/prop/funny/informative/graphic/stuff. So that makes him a smart nerd that can write. He tweets it all out and makes you stop, think, ponder and opine. He is the size of a house or in the pictures he and I are in together he must be standing on a chair. (At least that’s what I saw!) Someone said he “played a bit of rugby.” For us Americans, that means without pads on. Guaranteed to use “whilst” at least once per article.

4. Michael Beckerman: Founder/CEO The News Funnel New York, NY.

Comes from the old school of PR and is fighting like hell to get away from it. Changing the way #CRE receives views and thinks about #CRE content. HOOKED UP and networked with all the major #CRE players all over the country. His company blog is a MUST DAILY READ! If there is a Zen that exists in commercial real estate it starts with Michael. We all need a bit more ZEN!

5. Diane Danielson: Chief Operating Officer, SVN International Corp. Greater Boston Area

What is her official title again? Oh, yea, COO. Part of her Twitter bio says she is  “tweeting about #CRE, leadership, tech, #genderbalance, and soccer.” As if there was ever a doubt. Some may talk or tweet about it. She is a leader and flat out makes it happen! Any idea what 5050×2020 is? Maybe you need to find out. By the way, go ahead and call her a “Soccer Mom”….. I dare you!

6. Jonathan Schultz: Founder And Managing Principal At Onyx Equities Woodbridge, New Jersey

The man, the myth, the legend. (Wait, that’s what they say about me.) Coming at the #CRETech business with knowledge from the actual user side. What a novel concept. Developing, mentoring, seeding and using that cutting edge tech every day. Always with a smile, firm handshake and doing intros for the entire planet. Not afraid to put his opinion out there for any and all to see. Speaking, writing, tweeting and all while wearing a pink tie on a SoulCycle. Google it!

7. Allen Buchanan: Lee & Associates Orange County California.

Reality commercial real estate in the OC. Allen is a broker’s broker. On the street and doing deals in one of the most competitive markets in the world for (cough) years. He uses his online tools to focus on….wait for it….. his clients and customers. Yeah, it’s that simple and easy. The exact definition of a pro and networked beyond comprehension. The Tuesday Traffic Tips on Youtube is a must see. Sends me pics of his beautiful grandson. The cuteness is too much. Gives me the feels.

8. Jonas Haberkorn: Business Development Director Europe @ Propteq  | Founder @ Gewerbe-Quadrat Stuttgart Area, Germany

One of the young and aggressive people behind the original anti-property event Propteq Europe. No panels or keynotes just discussions face to face meetings and networking. (I like it! ) Watch the Sneak Peek Video. Writing killer content with beautiful graphics to back it up. Involved in that BlockChain thing. (These young people these days.) Also other than myself and Nick Romito possibly the best hair in #CRE/RE #Tech.

9. Aaron Block: Co-Founder and Managing Director at MetaProp NYC. Greater New York City Area

Bringing some serious global broker cred to the #CRETech party. Created NYC Real Estate Tech Week. Writing tweeting and putting his money where his #CRETech mouth is by starting his own RETech accelerator. Going global with MIPIM NYC and cranking out some of the best #CRETech content on the planet. Lifelong #WhiteSox fan just like me so yeah that matters! Someone said he speaks three languages. I’ve only heard him order drinks in English so that could be a rumor.

10. Ken Ashley, Executive Director at Cushman & Wakefield Greater Atlanta Area

One of the originals. Longtime advocate and trailblazer for #CRE #Tech and doing it all while hitting the bricks and doing deals in THE ATL. Everyone’s friend and helper. How many times have I asked him for a favor? Too many, and when he has not come through? Never! Major League producer for Cush Wake nationwide every year and volunteering like there are 40 hours in a day. This is where I’m supposed to come up with a witty finish. Can’t. Ken is too nice. Ok, he likes good wine and an excellent steak. Seriously, that’s the best I can do. Sometimes it is hard to understand him. I think it’s because of that funny accent.
