Property Innovation Labs (Pi Labs) Europe’s First Property Focused Accelerator Programme.

pilabs1

Property Innovation Labs (Pi Labs) is a 13-week intensive mentor led programme that accelerates the growth of exciting property start-ups. The programme culminates in a series of Investor events where a carefully selected group of angel investors, VCs and Private Equity groups will be present. The accelerator business model creates a culture of innovation and mutual support between talented groups of entrepreneurial founders within the same areas of interest. Pi Labs was founded by entrepreneurs Faisal Butt and Umesh Kumar and operates in partnership with global real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield and property venture capitalists, Spire Ventures.

Pi Labs is incubating innovative property startups between November 2014 and February 2015 to build a property focused community of like-minded ambitious companies with global aspirations. We are doing this in two phases, the first being an incubation space running from Nov 2014- Feb 2015. This will be followed by the launch of Europe’s first property innovation accelerator at our Pi Labs studios (March 2015- May 2015).

Each 13-week accelerator programme will culminate in a series of investor and mentor-led events. The investors consist of a select group of Angels, VCs, corporates and private equity houses. All of these individuals and institutions have been carefully selected to maintain quality and give our Pi Labs startups the best chance of receiving post-programme funding. All those selected have invested interest in this niche sector.

Pi Labs was founded to become the centre of the property innovation ecosystem in Europe. Our vision is to source, filter, identify, mentor, and accelerate high-calibre startup ventures who have the passion and ability to create scalable businesses that will disrupt the property sector. We plan to do this by providing each team with relevant mentorship, financial investment and business support.

In the run up to the start of the accelerator programme, Pi Labs will be offering incubation space to innovative startups looking to take their business to the next level. This will be a place where like-minded entrepreneurs can work in a dynamic environment with similar businesses in the property services sector. This culture fosters innovation and continues to help the UK become a global leader in Property Innovation and PropTech.

Faisal Butt, Pi Labs Founder and CEO believes the vision of the company will be to drive the next generation of technological innovation in the property sector.

“Through Pi Labs, we can empower prop-tech startups requiring space, access to capital and support and ultimately, help spawn the next wave of tech company success stories.  We see Pi Labs as the platform that will create the next Zoopla, the next AirBnB and the next Nest.”

“All those selected have invested interest in this niche sector”…can you say R-O-B-O-T-S?

Interesting idea. Some folks are talking about doing something here in Atlanta. Is an accelerator for CRE too niche? I don’t know…

Uh, if done well no. “If done well” is the key thing. Also NY is the place like it or not. Resources connections one of the biggest commercial real estate markets in the world. My 2 cents.

  • Pi Labs is a great idea, and I wish them all luck, but it is not Europe’s first real estate focused accelerator. In Berlin, ImmobilienScout (the leading real estate portal in Germany) has been running an accelerator for several years: http://youisnow.com
