San Antonino Texas- or what felt like the nearest place next to the sun!
(As a personal side I did my basic military and some of my military tech school training way back in the day in San Antonio so I know what’s up.)
I attended the 2018 BOMA International Conference & Expo to take a deep dive into all things Building Owners Managers and Tech.
I would like to extend a professional thank you to the staff of BOMA International for their courtesy.
Now if you want the…….Duke take (Wink)….on the event…I will put that at the end.
So let’s get started.

Well, of course, there was so much more and then some.
But I did say I would give you my personal…as in MY opinion, I said MY opinion about the #BOMA2018 event
Here is what I “absorbed!!!”
First off I said that San Antonio was near the sun. That was incorrect it is indeed ON the sun. “Can I sweat from there?”
The educational parts and pieces of the event are strong and high quality. Hard to find any flaws in that…
BUT… I know there is suppose to be “No Pitching” but hey..sometimes it’s about providing a value proposition. And do you know why…that value prop is paying the bills. Yes..the bills so…don’t be so quick to say…no pitching.
So much underutilized data and tech so far…not saying that in a bad way I’m just saying what a huge opportunity!!
Ok, I have to throw a couple of shout-outs. I hung a bit with the people from www.getgenea.com and HOLY Sh*T are they on it. Michael is just a flat out savant unicorn CEO. The depth of, the total package of, and the execution of that might just be breathtaking.
Here is the simple point I want to make. Genea may be here at point A today. Where are they going to be 2-3-5 years from now? In my opinion Dominant! In what way? Leading the industry because they just will.
Most all people say they are betting on what? People and …and…
Bet on this team or don’t.
It’s only leadership vision service and execution. Sounds and looks easy.
Another quick shout out goes to the people at www.1spottech.com they are the up and coming, backed with STRONG #CRE depth and just now going nationwide. I like the fit and I like where they are in the stack.
Can they get that Genea mojo and execute? I’m saying yes but only time will tell. They are hitting all the right spots and have all the tools so far. But as we all know, it’s a long hard road.
Oh and www.buildingengines.com. Hey, they are just KILLING IT! Shh, don’t tell anyone. It will be our little secret.
Oh and for a side…and some flavor.
It’s San Antonino come on there has to be…..pics of and stuff. It actually was fun and cool. Lighten up, people.
Well..um…uh…I did not order this…well this one in particular. For reference, this is the size of a 16 in softball. Two hands people two hands and order right after they bring the first??????
All the fun aside it was an educational event for me. Lots of learning lots of networking and lots of hard-working people doing serious business.
Isn’t that the point of things like this.
So that way my take on the 2018 BOMA International Conference & Expo. Discover Your Next BIG Moment!
Looking forward to next year, see you then!
